Touchscreens offer maximum flexibility in the design of user interfaces. However, there was one thing that traditional operating elements simply couldn’t offer for a long time: the immediate, physically perceptible feedback of a mechanical actuator.
RAFI’s TACTILE TOUCH fills exactly this gap. The technology combines mechanical operating elements with capacitive touch technology to create a unique solution with no cutouts or holes, on a completely sealed surface.
The principle is simple: Haptic on-screen operating elements are placed directly on the touch-sensitive display surface. These elements can be positioned freely, used flexibly, and labeled according to the application or context. Depending on the application, the following input elements are available:
TACTILE TOUCH thus creates a new category of human-machine interaction: the fusion of the flexibility of a touchscreen and the tactile reliability of mechanical operating elements.
+ Tactile feedback without compromise
Integrated mechanical elements, including key switches and rotary encoders, provide a realistic tactile response right on the display.
+ Flexible positioning and adaptive user interface
On-screen elements can be placed anywhere on the touch surface and labeled based on context. Functions can be displayed depending on the situation.
+ Safe operation without looking
Tactile contours and haptic feedback make it possible to locate and use operating elements without taking your eyes off the task at hand.
+ Sealed, waterproof surface
Since no cutouts or drill holes are required, the surface remains completely sealed and watertight – ideal for harsh industrial environments, vehicles, and outdoor applications.
+ Fewer operating elements, clearer layout
The combination of touch and tactility, along with adaptive function mapping, makes it possible to significantly reduce the number of physical operating elements – without compromising operating comfort or precision.
